i shall finally post abt my trip after much chasing nad rushing by a few people. (: haha. i'm nice, ain't i?? :D i'm granting people's wishes. hehe.
the first day of the trip was a pretty bad one. firstly, we got the news that beck's father was suspected of having dengue. prayed really hard the previous nights but thankfully, his whole family still went for the trip. just as we thought that this trip was gonna be a smooth one, amos' passport was one week from expiry and couldn't pass the taiwan airport. though our local airport allowed him to go through, they said that he will definitely not clear the taiwan side. what horrible incidents to start off with. -.- amos and uncle andrew had no choice but to stay in singapore to see what ICA can do to help them get over to taiwan asap to meet up with us.
when we reached taiwan, beck's father's fever was detected through the temperature detector thingy that everyone have to walk through. crappo. so he hadda go for temperature taking at a counter and go for a blood test. how great. all the unexpected incidents were piling at that time and it was really demoralising to see them happening. it totally dampened my spirits for the trip at that time. i was still happily counting down to my taiwan trip weeks b4 and now, this is happening right b4 my eyes. then, the ladies at the counter said that they will contact beck's father abt the results and stuff. got through after half an hour of delay. grrr. screw that inventor who came up with that detector.
but thank God! during that half an hour of wait, amos and his dad call to inform us that they will be able to join us at night as ICA made a temporary passport for amos! yay! :D at least one load off everyone's mind. (:
met up with our tour guide who was waiting there for us. he looked like a typical gambler or gangster! was kinda shocked by his appearance. he had gold chains around his neck, wore a hat and had the bad guy face. scary huh.
boarded the bus with died off excitement. sigh. was expecting this trip to be a very screwed one since it had a very bad "opening", doubt the "finale" will be any better. i carried very high hopes on this trip and at that time, the unexpected things were such a wet blanket.
the first place that we went upon arrival was the shoshan park. it's some ulu park in kaohsiung. HAHA. was expecting taiwan to be very much like singapore at that time. then, i came to know that kaohsiung is more like a countryside area. it's a little like chiangmai i would say. took a few photos from the elevated area. there was nothing much there actually except for higher views of kaohsiung.
nathaniel was damn funny. he was super excited upon seeing this broom in this temple-like area and started to sweep the floor happily. HAHA. he's one funny boy. then, when we were abt to leave, we saw this paper with a table printed on it which was for visitors to sign. auntie carol (nat's mum) asked him to write his name and write that he's swept this place and guess what he did?? he scribbled all over the back of the paper which was blank. he occupied the whole page writing: nathaniel i sweep the floor. HAHA. usually people will expect him to write in like one row of the table but instead, he used up ONE WHOLE PAGE. lol.
after that, we headed to our 2nd attraction: seas bay. i have no idea what is the real name. HAHA. we took a ferry to another island. it resembles pulau ubin actually, kampong feeling. (: we could rent motorbikes without any license there! cool right! wanted to but i have a feeling that i'll crash and will have to compensate them instead. HAHA.
went into 7-11 and wanted to see if we could get anything. then, i saw some packet drinks in the fridge with fahrenheit's picture printed on it! hastily, i took out my cam to take a photo of it and guess what happened?? the 7-11 staff scolded me! WHAT THE HECK. but who cares, worth being scolded since i've alr got hold of that picture. BLEAHS to that staff. oh ya, smth abt 7-11s in taiwan. they've all got wuzun standing outside EVERY 7-11. eee. cos he's the advertiser of some food. they should put jiro instead. :D
that night, we went to dream mall in kaohsiung! it's damn big lah~ it's like 8 times the size of vivo city. big huh! went to take the hello kitty ferris wheel at the top of the building. (: damn cute lah! it has this hello kitty cushion inside. :D was very tempted to take it home. HEHEHE. x) me, my bro, amanda, huajie and nathaniel took the same one. took many photos inside of the view since it brought us very high up. then, when we were abt to reach the ground, i quickly asked them to gather to take a group photo. took ages to take a proper one with everyone in it. HAHA. we were hurrying like mad since there were many spoilt shots with many heads cut off (in the photo) in the process and with our "container" descending. there's many unglam pictures of the guys too cos i made them carry the hello kitty cushion for me to take a photo. quite gay i would say. HAHAHAHAHA! xD was laughing my butts off when i took out to see it again. x)
after the ride, me amanda and huajie went to roam abt the shopping centre by ourselves cos the aunties were seeing their stuff. we were thinking that it wont be that difficult to find our way back to the entrance by the meeting time. when 10 minutes b4 the meeting time arrived, we all started to find the entrance by ourselves. then, we got lost in the humongous shopping centre! we walked to this super ulu place where there wasn't a single soul (other than us, duh!) till we were so frightened. had no choice but to consult the security guard in the end. they asked us if we were looking for the 游览车 drop off point but i said no. HAHA. cos i thought 游览车 was cable car! HAHA! (when there wasn't any cable car thingys there -.-) LOL CAN! the guard brought us there in the end even when we said no cos there wasn't any other drop off point other than that one. HAHAHAHA. xD how dumb.
went to their pasar malam at night to try out their food for dinner. (: their food there rocks big time lah! cheap and nice. i think the only cheap things in taiwan is their food. yummy and nice! :D how i wish i could buy them back to singapore to share with you people the delicious-ness of the food there. :D had beef beehoon, cheese sausage, youtiao, ou jian, bbq chicken wing, sotong, banana milkshake, fishball soup and lots more! i think that sounds alot. wait wait, before you all think that i'm such a glutton, i'm NOT. i shared all these with ALOT of people. :D hahahaha.
after walking around and eating such delicious food, we all went back to our hotel rooms to rest for the night. my roomie is amanda! :D hahaha. we had one queen sized bed for eaach of us! cool eh. i dont even enjoy such luxury at home. ): smth BAD happened that night, i lost my contact lens case! at first i thought i lost it but... continue to read it to find out what happened to it. :D hahaha. it's pretty hilarious. bought a new one from watsons for 2 bucks cos the kiapkiap thing came with it.
WOAH! AT THIS RATE I'M SO NOT GONNA FINISH MY TAIWAN POST! oh man... please dont sleep while reading this post. HAHA. :D thousand apologies. i'll try to cut short.
