hello everybody! i didn't attend school today. NOT bcos i ponned school but i've got MC. i'm a good girl this year okay... erase the previous notorious esther from your memories who always pon school all the time. HAHA! (though i still have those thoughts at times...) but for the sake of darn O levels, i shall remain firm in my stand! (:
i left school halrway through lessons cos my eye was hurting since the 2nd period of the day. at first i thought smth happened to my contact lenses and i threw them away but the pain still continued. then, my friends brought me to the sick bay to put eye drop. no help. i rested there for the whole of PE but the pain still remained and became worse even. then when i left the sick bay on my own wanting to go to the toilet, the receptionist in my school asked me if i wanted to go home. i said YES. haha. not bcos i wanted to skip lessons but it's bcos of my prelims oral i had to take supposedly in the aftn. she called up my mum and my mum called up my uncle to pick me up from school.
he sent me to TTSH emergency unit can! so scary. the thought of it is already frightening. but at that time, i was kinda half blind cos my right eye was damn pain that i couldn't even open. when i was there, i found out that it was as scary as i thought. it's more of walk-in clinic kinda thing. it's not exactly fast. -.- i had to wait for a long long long long long long time before i visited the first doctor, then another doctor then finally to the eye clinic. zzz. they said it's a MUST to go through the normal doctors before gg to the specialists. so annoying! in all, i visited 4 doctors and took up to 4 hours before everything was over! so long...
i was actually expecting the worse of my eye condition, i.e. being half blind! i think i'm crazy. haha. full of weird thoughts. but thank God that it was only eye infection. the eye specialist that i went to last, said that my eye hurts cos of prolong hours of wearing contact lens and hygiene of course. he said that the top later of skin of my eye has been rubbed off or smth. imagine an abrasion on your eye. OUCH! no wonder it hurts. an important message to share with everyone who's wearing contact lenses: do NOT wear your contact lenses for more than 8 hours a day and 5 days a week. change your contact lens cases every month and throw away after your contact lenses are due. clean your contact lenses appropriately and NOT just rinsing it with the 3-in-1 solution. okay. this is all quoted from the eye specialist. hahaha. (:
i really wonder if this incident was a blessing. i managed to skip prelim english oral which stace told me that the conversation and picture was hard, i'm unable to wear contact lenses for the next few days and look like a retard in specs, learnt to appreciate the people around me more, may not be able to attend my junior's match later to support them! heard from one of my cousin that previously, when she gone through eye infection due to wearing of contact lenses, she was unable to wear for the next 3 years! AHH~ but her condition was much worser than mine. so i hope i'll be able to wear in 1 week's time! (:
through this, i learnt to appreciate alot of people. i appreciate my friends who accompanied me to the sick bay and even skipped their recess to look after me, my classmates who sent smses to me ytd to show their regards, my uncle whom i'm not exactly close to picked me up from school almost immediately after my mum's call, my mum who specially took leave to accompany me to the doctor in the aftn ytd and today. my mum actually woke up every 3 hourly ytd to help me apply the eye drops and medicine! thank you mummy. (: she actually sacrificed her sleeping time to attend to me eye and despite of her hectic working schedule, she still took her time off to take care of me and bring me to the doctor. love you mummy! :D
my eye is as swollen as a goldfish now. zzz. hopefully i'll still be able to study with my swollen eye cos MYE is coming up real soon! english paper is next friday! *gasp* esther is still slacking. ahh~ study esther, STUDY!
